Biomechanics Workshops by Riccardo Galeotti — Learn to See Movement Differently

Have you ever watched someone walk and thought,

“Something’s off… but I can’t quite tell what”?

That’s exactly the kind of question my Biomechanics and Movement Workshops are designed to answer.

At The Body Lab Education, I teach people how to see the body as one connected system — not a collection of parts. Whether you’re a health professional, a movement enthusiast, or simply someone curious about how your body really works, these workshops will change the way you understand movement forever.

What These Workshops Are About

My workshops explore how the body moves in three dimensions — how every joint, muscle, and bone contributes to the larger choreography of walking, standing, and living without pain.

They’re built on a framework I’ve developed over two decades of practice, mentorship, and experimentation — a system informed by many great teachers and thinkers, including Gary Ward, Chris Sritharan, and the study of classical Chinese medicine, functional anatomy, and biomechanics.

This isn’t a single “method.” It’s a living, evolving framework for understanding human movement from the ground up.

Core Focus Areas

  • Foot and Lower Limb Mechanics: How your foot’s 3D movement controls everything above it.

  • Gait Analysis: Understanding how every joint contributes to the walking cycle — and how to spot missing movements that lead to pain.

  • Spinal Mobility & Core Dynamics: How the pelvis, spine, and ribcage coordinate to create balance and efficiency.

  • Functional Movement Assessment: Learn how to assess real human motion — not textbook postures — and correct it in real time.

  • Clinical Application: Integrate findings into your work immediately, whether you’re a therapist, trainer, or clinician.

How My Framework Developed

After 18+ years in clinical practice — blending acupuncture, manual therapy, and movement coaching — I noticed something missing in the way most practitioners approached pain:

They treated what hurt, not why it moved that way.

It merges:

  • Clinical functional anatomy

  • Eastern and Western medical perspectives

  • Manual mobilisation

  • Strength and conditioning principles

  • Observational gait analysis

This framework helps practitioners identify the missing motion that underpins dysfunction — and restore it through intelligent movement.

The Ground-Up Philosophy

Every structure in the body is influenced by the ground beneath it.

Your feet are your foundation — the first point of contact, the first joint in every kinetic chain.

Most treatments work top-down (relaxing tight muscles or adjusting joints). My workshops start from the ground up — exploring how your feet, ankles, and hips drive the rest of your movement.

When you restore motion from the ground, everything above reorganises naturally.

Who These Workshops Are For

For Practitioners

Physiotherapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, podiatrists, massage therapists, personal trainers, and movement educators who want to:

  • Understand whole-body biomechanics

  • Learn how to assess gait and joint sequencing

  • Improve outcomes for chronic or complex pain cases

  • Add 3D movement assessment and correction tools to their practice

For the General Public

Courses like “Liberate Your Feet” and “Move with Ease” are designed for everyday people who want to:

Improve posture, balance, and strength

  • Release chronic tightness and stiffness

  • Learn how to move with less effort and more awareness

How the Workshops Work

Each course blends theory, movement practice, and hands-on application to create a complete learning experience.

  • Pre-Learning: Online videos and study notes to prepare before you arrive.

  • In-Person Workshop: Two immersive days of movement labs, clinical demonstrations, and joint-by-joint exploration.

  • Post-Workshop Support: Two follow-up Q&A sessions and access to our online learning hub for continued mentorship and case discussion.

These workshops aren’t about memorising protocols — they’re about learning to see and feel movement differently.

Competition & Uniqueness - What Makes The Body Lab’s Workshops Different

What Makes The Body Lab’s Workshops Different

Most professional development courses teach you a skill or a protocol.

My workshops teach you how to think — how to observe, interpret, and change movement with precision.

Canberra has many excellent clinicians and educators — from podiatrists to physiotherapists to sports scientists — offering workshops and gait assessments.

But The Body Lab Education is one of the few dedicated programs that connects foot mechanics, gait, spinal motion, and functional strength into a single, learnable framework.

Other Workshop Providers

Australian Podiatry Association (State Branches)

Run evidence-based training for podiatrists on gait, footwear, and orthotics.

Difference: These are formal, pathology-focused courses designed for registered professionals. The Body Lab’s workshops are integrative and practical, showing how the entire kinetic chain interacts during real movement.

The Foot Collective
Focuses on foot strength, barefoot training, and natural movement.

Difference: TFC is brilliant for general public education, but The Body Lab goes deeper — exploring the relationship between feet, knees, hips, and spine through clinical-level biomechanics.

University & RTO Courses

Universities offer biomechanics as part of physiotherapy or exercise science degrees.

Difference: The Body Lab translates theory into hands-on application with results you can feel and see immediately.

Running Clinics & Sports Physio Labs

Clinics like SportsCare Canberra’s Running Lab and Canberra Running Clinic focus on treadmill gait analysis for runners.

Difference: My workshops focus on natural gait in real-world contexts, teaching professionals to read how the body moves on the ground — not the treadmill.

Local Podiatry & Performance Clinics
Clinics like Peak Performance Podiatry and The Walking Clinic offer one-on-one assessments and orthotics.

Difference: These are treatment-based services. My workshops are educational, designed to teach professionals and clients why movement fails and how to restore it systemically.

Why This Approach Matters

Where many courses teach “how to fix pain,” The Body Lab Education teaches how to understand motion itself.

The goal isn’t to add more tools to your belt — it’s to change how you see the human body move.

This work is the culmination of insights from movement science, manual therapy, acupuncture, and strength training — unified into a system that delivers practical, immediate change in both understanding and outcomes.

Upcoming Workshops

  • Functional Foot Mechanics

  • Functional Limb Mechanics

  • Functional Foot & Spinal Mechanics

  • Functional Gait Analysis

, Workshops are available in Canberra, Hobart, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and Melbourne and online.

In Summary

These workshops are about more than foot mechanics or rehabilitation.

They’re about rediscovering the movement intelligence your body already holds — and learning to guide others to do the same.

Influenced by brilliant mentors like Gary Ward and Chris Sritharan, and refined through decades of clinical practice, my Functional Biomechanics Framework represents a new chapter in movement education — grounded in science, lived experience, and the art of observation.

If you want to understand movement on a deeper level, these workshops are your gateway to seeing — and feeling — the human body in motion.
