Plantar Pressure Analysis

See how you load.

Most of us have no idea what happens underneath our feet when we stand and walk.

A Plantar Pressure Analysis makes it visible.

Using a pressure platform, I measure how pressure is distributed beneath your feet while standing and walking, giving you a visual picture of how each foot interacts with the ground.

Rather than deciding whether your feet are “good” or “bad”, we're simply asking:

How are you loading the ground?

This is a measurement and analysis service. It does not include treatment.

What does Plantar Pressure Analysis show?

The pressure platform records how pressure is distributed beneath your feet.

We can look at things such as:

  • differences between left and right

  • where pressure is concentrated

  • heel loading

  • how pressure travels through each foot

  • forefoot and toe loading

  • timing during walking

  • how your standing pattern compares with your walking pattern

The colourful maps aren't there just because they look impressive.

They let us see something that's very difficult to judge accurately just by watching you walk.

How it works

1. Standing analysis

You'll stand naturally on the pressure platform while we measure how pressure is distributed beneath each foot.

This gives us your static pressure profile.

2. Walking analysis

You'll walk across the platform several times at your normal pace.

This allows us to see how pressure changes from initial contact through the foot and towards push-off.

This gives us your dynamic pressure profile.

3. We go through your findings

I'll show you the important findings and explain what the pressure maps are actually telling us.

No need to decipher a psychedelic footprint and pretend you know what the red blob means.

4. You receive your report

You'll receive a visual Plantar Pressure Report summarising the important findings from your standing and walking measurements.

You can keep it as a baseline, use it for future comparison or share it with another practitioner.

What you receive

Static Plantar Pressure Analysis
See how each foot loads while standing.

Dynamic Plantar Pressure Analysis
See how pressure moves through each foot while walking.

Visual Findings
Pressure maps and relevant measurements.

Interpretation
I'll explain what the findings mean and which patterns may be worth further investigation.

Plantar Pressure Report
A visual summary of your results to keep or share.

What the pressure plate doesn't tell us

A difference in pressure doesn't automatically mean something is wrong.

Higher pressure in one area doesn't prove that it is causing pain, and perfect symmetry isn't the goal.

Plantar pressure gives us objective information about how you interact with the ground. We can then consider that information alongside your movement, symptoms, training or clinical assessment where appropriate.

Gait or Plantar Pressure?

They show us different things.

Plantar Pressure Analysis
shows how your feet load the ground.

Gait Analysis
shows how your body moves through each step.

Neither replaces the other.

Want both?

Complete Movement Analysis

Combine Gait Analysis and Plantar Pressure Analysis to see:

How you move + how you load.

Who is this useful for?

I'd make this less pathology-heavy than the existing page.

A Plantar Pressure Analysis may be useful if you:

  • want to understand how your feet load the ground

  • notice a difference between your left and right sides

  • are interested in your walking or foot mechanics

  • want a baseline before or during rehabilitation or training

  • want to compare changes over time

  • want objective information to share with another practitioner

You don't need to have foot pain to measure how your feet work.

Sometimes measuring is considerably more useful than guessing.

Have pain or a specific problem you want treated?

This is where we make the distinction from Comprehensive absolutely unmistakable.

If you have pain or a specific movement problem and want me to investigate why it may be happening and what we can do about it, start with a Comprehensive Restoration Assessment.

That appointment includes whole-body clinical assessment, initial treatment and recommendations for what to do next.

Plantar Pressure Analysis is different. Its purpose is to measure, analyse and explain how your feet load the ground.
