Comprehensive Restoration Assessment
Understand what feels difficult—and start working on it.
If pain keeps returning or movement feels restricted, you may be unsure what to try next. Perhaps walking, training or getting through the working day has become harder than it should feel.
I’m Riccardo. I help you explore how your body moves, what may be relevant to your discomfort and what we can work on to help you move more comfortably.
We’ll start with your story and what you want to get back to doing. I’ll assess the area troubling you alongside how the rest of your body moves, explain what I find and begin treatment during the same appointment.
Then we’ll check your response together. You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of what we found, what we tried and a practical plan for what to do next—including movements to practise where appropriate.
$330 · Includes your assessment and initial treatment
Start with what matters to you
I want to understand what’s difficult, how it affects your life and what you’ve already tried. What helped? What keeps returning? What would you like to feel more confident doing?
You don’t need to know which joint is responsible. “I want to walk the dog without planning every step around my knee” gives us a useful starting point—and something meaningful to work towards.
Look at the sore area and the movements around it
If your hip is bothering you, I’ll examine the hip itself. I’ll also look at how your foot, knee, pelvis and spine participate in the movements you find difficult.
I begin with what I call a movement check-in, standing with your feet on the ground. Together, we explore what moves freely, what feels restricted and which movements you can actively make and control. I may also observe you walking to see how those movements come together as you take a step.
Then I examine relevant areas on the treatment table. Comparing the two helps me understand whether a movement feels restricted or is available lying down but harder to use on your feet. That helps guide what we work on together.
Make sense of what we find
I’ll explain the findings in plain language and help you feel the movements we’re discussing.
A difference between sides or a restricted movement doesn’t automatically explain your pain. We consider what we observe alongside your symptoms, history and goals, then choose what seems useful to explore.
For example, if turning through your pelvis feels difficult during a step, we might examine that movement more closely, practise it together and return to walking to see whether anything feels easier.
You should understand what we’re trying and why.
Begin treatment during your first visit
Your initial treatment is included. Depending on your assessment, goals and preferences, we may use guided movement, hands-on treatment, acupuncture or strength work.
You don’t need to choose a technique before you arrive. I’ll explain what I suggest and discuss it with you.
After treatment, we’ll return to a movement or task that matters to you. Does it feel easier? Can you move more comfortably? What hasn’t changed?
Your response helps us decide what to do next.
Leave knowing what to work on
Before you leave, we’ll talk through your Restoration Plan: what we found, how you responded and your next steps.
If home movements would be useful, we’ll practise them together. I’ll help you recognise what you’re aiming to feel and provide exercise guidance so you have something practical to work with between visits.
There isn’t a preset number of appointments for everyone. If I recommend a follow-up, I’ll explain its purpose and what we’ll review. The aim is to help you build confidence in your movement and in what you can do for yourself.
Would more detailed analysis be useful?
Your $330 assessment includes clinical observation of how you stand and move, which may include watching you walk.
Formal recorded Gait Analysis and Plantar Pressure Analysis are optional, separately charged services. They provide additional information through advance video analysis or pressure-plate measurement and interpretation.
Gait Analysis · +$125
A closer look at how your whole body moves during walking. You submit videos from the side, front and back before your appointment. I analyse them in advance, then discuss the findings with you alongside your clinical assessment.
Plantar Pressure Analysis · +$95
Measures how pressure is distributed beneath your feet while standing and how it changes as you walk. I take static and dynamic pressure-plate measurements during your visit and interpret them alongside your movement assessment.
Explore Plantar Pressure Analysis
Complete Movement Analysis · +$195
Combines both analyses, allowing us to consider your walking movements and foot-pressure patterns together. Walking videos are submitted and analysed before your appointment; pressure-plate measurements are taken during your visit.
Each option includes an explanation of the relevant findings, with written notes or images where useful.
You can book your assessment without additional analysis. If you’re unsure which option would be useful, call or text me on 0432 785 135 before booking.
Before you come in
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move. Shorts or activewear can make it easier to observe movement.
Bring any relevant scans or reports, your usual footwear and any orthotics you use.
If you’ve added Gait Analysis or Complete Movement Analysis, follow the recording and submission guidance provided so I have time to review your videos before we meet.
Find us at 21 Chisholm Street, Ainslie ACT 2602. Free parking is available in the driveway or on Campbell Street.
You can book directly—no referral is needed. If you’re seeking a particular treatment and aren’t sure which appointment to choose, call or text 0432 785 135.
Take the next step towards more comfortable movement
You don’t need to have it all worked out before you arrive. Bring your concerns and what you’d like to get back to doing. We’ll explore where to begin together.
